The Finance Ministry (MF) has planned loans worth 7.2 billion lei from commercial banks in September 2026, to which 15% of the nominal value awarded at the benchmark auctions may be added through additional non-competitive offer sessions organised exclusively for benchmark instruments.The 7.2 billion lei amount provided for in the issuance prospectuses for discount treasury certificates and benchmark government bonds is similar to the amount planned for August 2026 and will be used to refinance and prematurely repay public debt and finance the state budget deficit.According to the prospectus published in the Official Journal, an auction will be held on 3 September for a 1 billion lei issue of discount treasury certificates maturing on 29 March 2027, while another auction will be held on 14 September for a 1 billion lei issue maturing on 15 September 2027.In addition, eight auctions will be held for benchmark bond issues with a total value of 5.2 billion lei, followed the next day by additional non-competitive offer sessions worth 15% of the nominal value awarded at the benchmark auction.Accordingly, auctions have been scheduled for four 500 million lei bond issues, on 3 September, 21 September, 24 September and 28 September, and for four 800 million lei issues, on 7 September, 10 September, 14 September and 17 September.
