A first group of Romanian companies preparing international expansion is taking part this month in Madrid in the inaugural market-immersion session of the Beyond Borders programme, launched by Endeavor Romania together with Romanian Business Leaders and Banca Transilvania, the bank said. The selected companies have proven results in Romania and operate in fields such as artificial intelligence, medtech, software, food production, services and logistics. Some already have international operations and are joining the programme to test concrete plans for entering and developing on the Spanish market.Spain is the programme's first destination thanks to its favourable context for companies pursuing internationalisation: a dynamic economy, an active entrepreneurial ecosystem, strong economic ties with Romania and one of the largest Romanian communities abroad. The programme offers access to markets, expertise and connections that can support international expansion. Participants meet entrepreneurs, experts and members of the Romanian business diaspora in Spain to understand the local business environment and identify growth and collaboration opportunities. Each company follows a tailored track based on its objectives and stage of development, including meetings with Romanian and Spanish founders, decision-makers in Spanish companies, investors, market-entry specialists and members of the Romanian business community in Spain. After the Madrid programme, participants receive mentoring and structured follow-up sessions based on the opportunities identified.Access to these resources is facilitated through Endeavor's global network and its community of founders in Spain, helping companies validate assumptions, understand market specifics and build relevant relationships for next steps.Tiberiu Moisa, deputy general manager for SME & MidCorporate at Banca Transilvania and Endeavor Romania board member, said: "Romanian entrepreneurs keep the country moving, and now we support them to grow abroad as well. Romania has companies that can compete successfully on other markets - the question is no longer if they can take this step, but when. Internationalisation starts with understanding the market, building a network and finding the right partners."The Madrid visit will also include a Diaspora Gathering, connecting participating entrepreneurs with members of the Romanian business community in Spain, as well as founders, executives and professionals familiar with the local market.Mihnea Craciun, managing director of Endeavor Romania, said the programme was designed to provide curated, relevant access: "When entering a new market, access to the right people can make a major difference - founders who faced similar challenges, potential clients who can validate a solution, or partners who deeply understand the local context."Banca Transilvania and Endeavor Romania announced their strategic partnership in August 2026 to support the international expansion of Romanian companies and strengthen ties with Romanian business communities across Europe and the United States. The next market-immersion session will take place in Greece in October 2026.
