ForMin Comanescu participated in the Resolute Support Mission (RSM) format meeting

The Foreign Affairs Minister, Lazar Comanescu has participated on Tuesday in the Resolute Support Mission (RSM) format meeting, within the NATO foreign ministerial reunion, in Brussels, a release by the relevant ministry informs.On this occasion, the participants adopted a public statement on the Allied support to Afghanistan.In his speech, Minister Lazar Comanescu emphasized Romania's contribution to fulfilling its Resolute Support Mission's mandate and informed about the Romanian side's agreement to maintaining the level of current forces in 2016.The Romanian chief diplomat stressed that, in order to successfully unfold the training, counselling and assistance activities for the Afghan National Defence and Security Forces (ANDSF), it is paramount to observe the commitments assumed by the authorities in Kabul. The continuation of the reform process of the security sector, the progressive, irreversible development of the ruling capacity, the human rights' observance, and the economic development are essential for the stability and security of Afghanistan, Minister Lazar Comanescu added, according to the MAE release.
