ForMin Odobescu, Marshal of Polish Senate discuss risks posed by Russia's hybrid actions

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Luminita Odobescu, had on Tuesday a meeting with the Marshal of the Senate of the Republic of Poland, Malgorzata Kidawa-Blonska, who is on an official visit to Bucharest, informs a release from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MAE) sent on Tuesday.According to the cited source, the risks posed by Russia's "hybrid actions, including through aggressive disinformation campaigns, aimed both at affecting the unity of European states and the Euro-Atlantic community, and at destabilizing states such as the Republic of Moldova and Georgia" were addressed. In this context, the importance of continuing a coordinated action to counteract these threats and to increase resilience at the European, allied and partner states level was emphasized.Minister Luminita Odobescu highlighted that the year 2024 has a special symbolic charge through the prism of multiple anniversaries, such as the 105th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations and the 15th anniversary of the Strategic Partnership. She also mentioned the marking for the first time, on March 3, of the Romanian-Polish Solidarity Day.Also, the Romanian minister pointed out the efficient coordination at the EU and NATO level, as well as within regional cooperation formats.As to the security agenda, Minister Luminita Odobescu referred to the celebration, in 2024, of the 25th anniversary of Poland's accession to NATO, respectively 20 years of Romania's inclusion among the Alliance's member states. She mentioned the efforts carried out, together with the other allies, for the consolidation of European security and for the firm support of Kyiv in the context of the war of aggression launched by Russia against Ukraine. She also emphasized the importance of continuing the support given to the partner states exposed to the consequences of this war.
