Foreign Minister Luminita Odobescu had a telephone conversation on Tuesday with her Turkish counterpart Hakan Fidan, during which she congratulated the Turkish side on the occasion of the centenary of the Republic of Turkey and stressed the "particular importance" of the strategic partnership between the two countries.According to a Foreign Affairs Ministry (MAE) press release on Tuesday, Luminita Odobescu reconfirmed the importance of strengthening the bilateral Romanian-Turkish relations based on a consistent political-diplomatic dialogue and a substantial economic cooperation, stressing the particular importance of the Strategic Partnership between Romania and the Republic of Turkey.The two officials exchanged views on the security situation in the State of Israel and the Gaza Strip, stressing the need to ensure the provision of humanitarian support to the population of the Gaza Strip.At the same time, it was agreed that greater coordination should be achieved with a view to the immediate and unconditional release of all hostages and the prevention of the risk of an escalation of violence in the region, the MAE said.The two dignitaries agreed to maintain close coordination on topical issues of the international and regional agenda, with a focus on the security situation in the Black Sea, the press release added.
