ForMin Toiu meets AmCham Romania representatives; support for the country's OECD accession reaffirmed

 Minister of Foreign Affairs Oana Toiu welcomed on Thursday a delegation of the American Chamber of Commerce in Romania, with AmCham representatives reaffirming their support for our country's accession to the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD).According to a Foreign Affairs Ministry (MAE) release, AmCham Romania representatives expressed their willingness to collaborate with the Foreign Affairs Ministry to promote common objectives, they reaffirmed their support for Romania's accession to the OECD and announced the submission of a letter to the US administration advocating for our country's inclusion in the Visa Waiver Program.Furthermore, they presented the schedule of actions dedicated to strengthening economic and commercial relations with the US, which includes the organization of the 4th edition of the Romania - US Economic Forum.The head of diplomacy in Bucharest appreciated the business community's contribution to the development of the Strategic Partnership between Romania and the US and mentioned the goal of identifying new cooperation projects in terms of investment, trade and economy, which can capitalize on the complementarity between the two sides of the Atlantic, the release mentioned.Minister Toiu also expressed appreciation for AmCham's efforts, both competed and ongoing, in supporting Romania's inclusion in the Visa Waiver Program, as well as for the very good cooperation with the MAE team preparing the country's accession to the OECD.The Romanian Foreign Affairs Minister underscored the MAE's involvement in the process of assessing and reorganizing national structures dedicated to promoting foreign trade and investments, and encouraged AmCham to continue proposing ways to improve collaboration between the public and private sectors, so that Romania can be more effectively promoted as an investment destination and a trusted economic partner.In regard to the Ukrainian file, the MAE official underscored Romania's opportunities in the context of Ukraine's future reconstruction process, both as a potential hub for international companies and from the perspective of the connectivity infrastructure which also needs to include the Republic of Moldova, the quoted release also mentioned.AmCham Romania was established in 1993 and is an accredited member of the US Chamber of Commerce, as well as the AmChams Europe network.
