Four months after launching online lending process, Garanti BBVA reports significant results

December 9, 2024

Garanti BBVA reports significant results four months after introducing new functionalities in the Mobile Banking app, enabling clients to quickly and easily apply for personal loans and Bonus Cards, without visiting branches. As a result, after 4 months from the launch, we have reached to a point that in October, 13% of loan applications and 21% of Bonus Card requests have been now submitted exclusively online, directly through the app.   The bank aims to have the majority of the applications via online channel, considering that money transfers and lending options in the mobile banking application save significant costs and time for customers. Launched in June, the online lending feature allows existing clients to apply for personal loans or Bonus Cards 24/7, from anywhere in the world, using just a smartphone and an internet connection. The fully digitalized process eliminates the need for branch visits and offers a fast response time, providing convenient access to the financial solutions clients need.   “We are pleased with the increased interest in our online services and the performance of our digital platform. In just four months, we have seen a significant rise in online applications, which reflects our clients’ trust in our digital solutions. Simplifying access to finance is a key part of our commitment to improving the experience for our existing clients. We are inviting you to be a part of Garanti BBVA’s customer family and experience from first hand our innovations, while comfortably sitting in your homes”, stated Tolga Banyocu, Deputy General Manager, Client Solutions Area, Garanti BBVA.   To encourage the use of online services, Garanti BBVA has introduced additional benefits for clients. Those applying for a Bonus Card through Mobile Banking will receive 300 lei in bonus points upon approval, while applicants for personal loans will benefit from zero application analysis commission. This functionality is part of Garanti BBVA’s digitalization strategy, aimed at offering clients greater flexibility and helping them resume their postponed plans. The advantages offered by the app are currently available for existing clients. Other individuals interested in applying online for a personal loan or Bonus Card can do so after initially becoming clients of the bank.   Garanti BBVA is currently running an extensive media campaign to promote the new benefits offered to existing customers through the Mobile Banking app. The campaign features the Romanian acapella band Blue Noise, it focuses on communicating the bank’s support in helping customers resume their postponed plans, and will broadcast across all communication channels – TV, cinema, radio, print, and social media. The initiative was joined as well by local influencers Denis Hanganu and Adrian Nartea.
