French Embassy, CRIES launch project call Education for change:from fast fashion to responsible consumption

 The Embassy of France in Romania, in partnership with CRIES - Resource Centre for Ethical and Solidarity Initiatives, is launching the project call 'Education for change: from fast fashion to responsible consumption', aimed at non-governmental organizations and teachers from pre-university and university education."The French Embassy in Romania, in partnership with the Resource Center for Ethical and Solidarity Initiatives (CRIES), is launching today, December 13, a call for projects as part of the 'Speeding Up Slow-Fashion' event, organized by the French Embassy in April 2025. The initiative aims to support projects focused on educating young people and raising their awareness of responsible consumption, the impact of the textile industry on the environment, the problems associated with fast fashion and the exploration of viable alternatives in the field," reads a press release sent on Friday.The call "Education for change: from fast fashion to responsible consumption" takes place at national level and is addressed to non-governmental organizations and teachers from pre-university and university, interested in implementing educational projects in the field.Applicants are encouraged to address topics such as: the environmental impact and carbon footprint of textiles; achieving zero waste - how to reduce the environmental footprint of textiles; circular economy in fashion: collecting, repairing, reusing and reselling clothes; adopting responsible practices to extend the lifespan of clothes; exploring alternatives to fast fashion; the social and ethical dimensions of sustainable fashion: fair trade and workers' rights; understanding the fashion supply chain: tracing the clothes route from production to retail, specifies the cited source.The application period is December 13, 2024 - January 20, 2025.Three prizes, worth a total of 3,000 EUR, will be awarded: first prize - 1,500 EUR, second prize - 1,000 EUR and third prize - 500 EUR.All participants who will pass the pre-selection stage will have the opportunity to develop their project ideas through meetings with experts from Romania and France.  (Photo:https://cries.ro/)
