Gross Domestic Product (GDP) remained unchanged in real terms in Q2 of 2026 compared with Q1 of 2026, while compared with Q2 of 2025 it fell by 0.4% on the unadjusted series and by 2% on the seasonally adjusted series, according to the National Institute of Statistics (INS) estimated data released on Friday.In the first half of 2026, Gross Domestic Product fell by 0.8% compared with the first half of 2025 on the unadjusted series and by 1.6% on the seasonally adjusted series."As a result of the revision of the unadjusted series by including the estimates for Q2 2026 in the quarterly series due to the inclusion of the new estimated value, the seasonally adjusted series were re-estimated in order to record the effect of the new statistical observation. The volume indices were revised as compared to the second provisional version of quarterly gross domestic product published in the Press release no. 173 of July 09, 2026," the INS mentioned.Thus, the results of first quarter of 2025, compared with the fourth quarter of 2024, were revised from 99.7% to 99.6%, the results of second quarter of 2025, compared with the first quarter of 2025, were revised from 100.8% to 100.9%, the results of third quarter of 2025, compared with the second quarter of 2025, were not revised (100.0%).Moreover, the results of fourth quarter of 2025, compared with the third quarter of 2025, were also not revised (98.1%), while the results of the first quarter of 2026, compared with the fourth quarter of 2025, were revised from 100.0% to 99.9%."The seasonally adjusted series are quarterly re-estimated according to the European practice," the INS mentioned.
