On Thursday, the government approved Romania's contribution to the Contribution Agreement on European Union's exceptional macro-financial assistance for Ukraine.According to the government, the emergency ordinance approves Romania's joining the contribution agreement regarding the exceptional macro-financial assistance from the European Union to Ukraine pursuant to Article 7 of Regulation (EU) 2022/2463 of the European Parliament and of the Council, in order to authorise Romania's payments.The ordinance establishes the legal framework for Romania's contribution to the contribution agreement for the exceptional macro-financial assistance of the European Union to Ukraine in the form of loans capped at EUR 18 billions.The duration of the contribution agreement enters into force on the date of signing by Romania and the European Commission and ends on December 31, 2027.The government of Romania, through the Ministry of Finance, is authorised to conclude this agreement with the European Union.
