GROSS DOMESTIC PRODUCTS IN Q2 2024 WAS, IN REAL TERMS, BY 0,1%1 HIGHER AS COMPARED TO Q1 2024

• Gross Domestic Product recorded an increase by 0,8%, as against the same quarter of 2023, for both unadjusted and seasonally adjusted series; • In the first semester of 2024, as against the same period of the previous year, the Gross Domestic Product increased by 0.7 % for the unadjusted series and by 1,5% for the seasonally adjusted series; • The seasonally adjusted series of quarterly Gross Domestic Product was readjusted as a result of the introduction of the estimates for Q2 2024, being revised as compared to the version published in the Press release no. 176 of 8 July 2024.   Seasonally adjusted series   According to data published on Wednesday by the National Institute of Statistics (INS), in Q2 2024, as compared to the previous quarter, the Gross Domestic Product increased by 0.1%. As compared to the same quarter of 2023, the Gross Domestic Product increased by 0.8%. In the first half of the year 2024, the Gross Domestic Product increased by 1.5% as compared to the same period of 2023.   Unadjusted series   As compared to the same quarter of 2023, Gross Domestic Product in Q2 2024 increased by 0.8%. In the first half of the year 2024 the Gross Domestic Product increased by 0.7% as compared to the same period of 2023.   Revisions   As a result of the revision of the unadjusted series by including the estimates for Q2 2024 in the quarterly series, the seasonally adjusted series were re-estimated. The volume indices were revised as compared to the second provisional version of quarterly gross domestic product published in the Press release no. 176 of July 8, 2024 as follows: - the results of second quarter of 2023, compared with the first quarter of 2023, were revised from 102.8% to 102.9%; - the results of third quarter of 2023, compared with the second quarter of 2023, were not revised (103.5%); - the results of fourth quarter of 2023, compared with the third quarter of 2023, were not revised (101.1%); - the results of the first quarter of 2024, compared with the fourth quarter of 2023, were not revised (102.2%).   The seasonally adjusted series are quarterly re-estimated according to the European practice.
