GymBeam dominates the competition organized by Compari.ro: Results of the first "Shop of the Year" edition in Romania

May 15, 2026

Compari.ro, Romania’s leading price-comparison platform and part of the Heureka Group, announces the winners of the first local edition of the Shop of the Year 2025 competition, naming GymBeam as the grand winner of the edition. During the event held on May 14, a total of 20 awards were granted across three main categories — Quality, Popularity, and the Grand Award — recognizing top-performing online stores and brands in Romania and confirming the current leaders of the e-commerce market.

The competition, which has a consolidated tradition across Central and Eastern Europe, focuses on the quality of services provided by online stores as perceived directly by consumers. The final ranking is based on community votes and evaluations collected from verified purchases, providing a clear image of the trust retailers enjoy in the local market.

The voting process took place between February and April, this period serving as the ultimate test for the stores' ability to manage high order volumes while maintaining a high standard of customer satisfaction.

First edition in Romania: Winners across main categories
At this first edition organized in Romania, winners were announced across 10 Quality sub-categories and 8 Popularity sub-categories. The Popularity awards were determined by public votes, while the Quality awards were granted based on the annual results from the Compari.ro "Trusted Shop" program. The "Shop of the Year 2025" Grand Prize went to GymBeam, which also secured first place in the Quality category for the sport & fitness segment and won a Popularity prize. The “Shop of the Year” distinction honours the store with the best overall performance and the highest level of customer satisfaction across the entire ecosystem.

The winners of the Quality Awards, representing excellence in service and reliability, are: AnveloStar (auto-moto), LL Store (home & garden), Suplimente Originale (beauty & health), Photosetup (hobby, art & gifts), QWERTY (IT & computing), Dekada Kids (Toys & Entertainment), BebeBliss (baby & mother), RohBoutique (fashion & accessories), GymBeam (sport & fitness), DronShop (Phones & Gadgets).

For the Popularity Awards, based on the preferences and votes of Romanian consumers, the following stores took the lead: VagAuto (auto-moto), vidaXL (home, garden & construction), Tulli (toys & games), Telefonul Tău (electronics & mobile), GymBeam (Sports & Fitness), evoMAG.ro (Computers), Spring Farma (beauty & health), and Vexio (Universal Store). Additionally, the award for Marketplace Performance was won by TYPEC, while Special Awards were presented to TYPEC, eJuniorul, and evoMAG.

A night celebrating the industry
The event brought together key industry leaders, including David Chmelař, CEO of Heureka Group, and Sorin-Adrian Dochian, Country Manager of Compari.ro, alongside representatives of the top-performing e-commerce brands in Romania.

"The first edition of the Shop of the Year competition in Romania demonstrates what truly matters to local customers in the online space. The success of these platforms highlights that true excellence in e-commerce is built on a foundation of authentic and sustainable consumer trust. Compari.ro is currently evolving into a comprehensive e-commerce marketplace. This strategic transition aims to unify the country’s fragmented retail landscape by providing local merchants with a powerful platform to reach a wider audience" said Sorin-Adrian Dochian, Country Manager of Compari.ro.
