Heatwave and thermal discomfort in Capital and eight counties in south of country, throughout Monday

Southeast Oltenia, south and east Muntenia, as well as southwest Dobrogea will be under a Code Yellow heat warning on Monday, with maximum temperatures in these regions set to reach 36 degrees.According to the National Meteorological Administration, between 12:00 and 24:00, thermal discomfort will be high, and the temperature-humidity index (ITU) will reach or slightly exceed the critical threshold of 80 units. Maximum temperatures will be 35...36 degrees.The counties of Olt, Teleorman, Giurgiu, Ilfov, Calarasi, Ialomita, Braila and partially Constanta, as well as the municipality of Bucharest, are marked with Code Yellow.Meteorologists note that, by mid-week, there will be local heatwaves and high thermal discomfort in the south and southeast of the country.
