High Court of Cassation admits appeal against decision on suspending Constitutional Court's annulment of presidential election

The High Court of Cassation and Justice admitted, on Friday, the appeal against the decision by which the Ploiesti Court of Appeal admitted a request on the suspension of the Constitutional Court of Romania (CCR)'s decision of December 6, 2024 which annulled the presidential election.The Prosecutor's Office with the Ploiesti Court of Appeal and the Constitutional Court of Romania contested the decision of the Ploiesti Court of Appeal.   Judicial inspection will perform checks with regard to the possible disciplinary offence committed by the judge of the Court of Appeal Ploiesti who admitted on Thursday the request for suspension of the CCR decision through which the presidential elections were annulled, informs the Superior Council of Magistrate (CSM).' The ordered measure takes into account the fact that in about 30 other identical cases settled by the appeal courts in the country, the decisions pronounced were to reject the action, the judicial practice being uniform in this respect', reads a statement sent by the SCM.   A judge of the Court of Appeal Ploiesti admitted a request through which the suspension of the CCR decision of 6 December 2024, through which the presidential elections were annulled.
