Household average monthly income available for savings up 37 pct in Q2

The average monthly income available for savings per household at the end of Q2 2024 increased by 37% to RON 1,290 from RON 941 in Q2 2023, Minister of European Investments and Projects Adrian Caciu announced on Monday on Facebook, noting also that "the per capita average monthly income available for savings increased by 36% to RON 514 from RON 378, with a nationwide survey of household income and expenditure revealing a substantial increase in the income available for savings or for activities other than the usual ones."According to data released on Monday by the National Institute of Statistics, the average total monthly income per Romanian household in Q2 2024 was RON 8,210 in nominal terms, standing at RON 3,274 per capita, up 2% compared to the previous quarter. Year-over-year, the average total monthly income per household increased by 18.8%, and the per capita income advanced 18.2%.
