Ialomita County to host over 400-million-euro investment in three wind farms built until 2027

Ialomita County will host one of Romania's most significant investments in renewable energy with the development of the Ialomita Wind Farm, which will have a total capacity of over 250 MW and an estimated value of more than 400 million euro, County Council (CJ) President Marian Pavel announced on Wednesday.The project is being developed by the companies KKR, GreenVolt and Renovatio, and involves the construction of three wind farms across four localities in the county: Tandarei, Gheorghe Lazar, Grivita and Ograda, with completion expected in 2027.'An investment of over 400 million euro in Ialomita! I had an important meeting with representatives from KKR, GreenVolt and Renovatio, who are bringing an ambitious project to our county: the Ialomita Wind Farm, with a total capacity of over 250 MW. The goal is to build three wind farms across four administrative-territorial units: Tandarei, Gheorghe Lazar, Grivita and Ograda, with completion estimated in 2027. The constructors have been encouraged to collaborate with local companies and communities for mutual benefit,' Marian Pavel wrote on his Facebook page.The Ialomita Wind Farm will contribute to strengthening Romania's energy transition and achieving national targets for reducing carbon emissions and increasing the share of renewable energy in the energy mix.'The County Council, together with all the institutions involved, is offering full support for the smooth implementation and completion of this project, which will bring added value to the area and a strong boost to sustainable development. We are transforming Ialomita through clean and sustainable energy,' Marian Pavel added.
