An International Monetary Fund mission led by Joong Shik Kang will be in Bucharest from September 3 to 12 to review recent developments in the Romanian economy under Article IV of the IMF's Articles of Agreement, the international financial organization said in a statement."The IMF team will discuss economic developments and policies with the Romanian authorities. It will hold meetings with officials from the Ministry of Finance, the National Bank of Romania and other government agencies, as well as with representatives from the private sector and non-government organizations," the statement said.The consultations are a mandatory review exercise for all member states. The purpose of Article IV consultations is to examine the financial and economic situation at national level and to make general recommendations regarding monetary, financial, and economic policies to be followed in order to ensure stability and positive economic development.
