India’s ambassador to Romania, Manoj Kumar Mohapatra met on Wednesday in Alba Iulia with the representatives of the authorities of county and local public administration.The official meeting between the ambassador and the chairman of the Alba County Council, Ion Dumitrei, the prefect Nicolae Albu and the mayor of Alba Iulia, Gabriel Plesa took place at the Memorial House ‘ Camil Velican’."It was an interesting meeting, and we had the opportunity to engage in an open dialogue about opportunities for economic cooperation, especially in the industrial and renewable energy sectors. (...) I am confident that this first meeting marks the beginning of a solid and mutually beneficial partnership," wrote Ion Dumitrel, president of the Alba County Council, on Facebook. For his part, Gabriel Plesa said that, together with representatives of the Alba County administration, he had presented the main development priorities for the city of Alba Iulia and Alba County, highlighting the region’s economic, investment, industrial, educational, and tourism potential. 'At the same time, the competitive advantages that Alba County offers to investors interested in developing sustainable partnerships were highlighted. During the meeting, the prospects for intensifying economic cooperation between the Indian and Romanian business communities were discussed, and both sides expressed their willingness to facilitate direct contacts between companies, economic organizations, and investors from the Republic of India and Alba County,” said Mayor Gabriel Plesa.
