It’s a busy weekend in Bucharest, as the city gears up for its annual celebration, film and theater festivals bring the latest productions, and new exhibitions are opening.
Minister of National Defence Angel Tilvar met on Tuesday in Istanbul with Haluk Gorgun, the president of the Turkish Defence Industry Agency, context in which they discussed industrial partnerships and technology transfer, informs a MApN press release sent on Tuesday.Minister Tilvar also highlighted recent achievements in the field, including the acquisition of Bayraktar TB2 systems and the collaboration with the Turkish defence company Otokar."We appreciate and support the expansion of technological and industrial collaboration between Romania and Turkey in the defence field. We want to strengthen these relations by implementing projects that will benefit both countries," said Angel Tilvar, quoted in the press release.Also on Tuesday, the minister participated in the fourth edition of SAHA EXPO 2024, an event dedicated to the promotion of military equipment, reads the cited source."With over 1,200 exhibitors and 500 official and trade delegations, the exhibition offers significant opportunities for cooperation in the defence, maritime, aeronautics and space fields," the source said.Minister Tilvar's delegation included Romania's ambassador to the Republic of Turkey, Stefan Tinca, the Chief of the Romanian Naval Forces, Vice Admiral Mihai Panait, the head of the Directorate General for Armaments, Lieutenant General Teodor Incicas, and the deputy head of the Department for Defence Policy and Planning, Major General Mihai Iancu.
