Passenger traffic at the 'Avram Iancu' International Airport in Cluj-Napoca hit over 1.6 million in the first half of 2025, 11% more than in the same period of 2024, the air facility said in a release.Other activity numbers in the reporting period were as follows: over 13,750 aircraft movements (+12% y-o-y); an ACI Europe nomination among the large regional airports with the most consistent air traffic dynamics in May 2025 (+12.8% vs. May 2024); the best month of June in the airport's history - June 2025, with over 338,000 passengers, marking a 13.6% increase compared to June 2024; significant growth in the tourist charter sector (+43%) and domestic flights (+23%).Italy ranked first on the list of destination countries for regular flights from Cluj International Airport, with a total of 286,000 registered passengers, followed by Germany with 225,000 registered passengers, and Spain with a total of 188,000 registered passengers.
