Infrastructure: The Tarom company will no longer operate flights to and from Heathrow Airport - London, starting from October 27

TAROM has sold its landing and take-off slots at the UK’s Heathrow Airport to Qatar Airways, according to Boardingpass. Thus, the Romanian company will no longer operate flights to London, and Romanians will have to turn to other airlines. According to the TAROM airline website, there are no flights available to Heathrow Airport in the UK. TAROM had 7 weekly return services to London, but these will be suspended from 27 October 2024.   Last months, the Executive approved state aid for TAROM, in the amount of 471.04 million lei, the decision being an important step for saving the company, announced the Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, Sorin Grindeanu.   According to him, the amount allocated has the following destinations: up to 214.3 million lei represents restructuring aid that is proposed to be granted in the form of capitalization in 2024, the amount of 12.51 million lei represents the increase in share capital carried out in year 2023, and 244.22 million lei represents the loan granted as individual state aid for rescue in 2020 and the updated related interest
