INSCOP poll: Mircea Geoana leads the trust ranking, followed by Nicusor Dan, Marcel Ciolacu and Nicolae Ciuca

Mircea Geoana leads the ranking of trust, 33.4% of the participants to the survey saying that they trust enough and very much the NATO deputy general secretary. The NATO official is followed by Nicusor Dan with 26.2% much and very much trust and Marcel Ciolacu with 23.6% much and very much trust.   The ranking is followed by Nicolae Ciuca with trust capital of 21.4%. Elena Lasconi follows with trust capital of 21.3% and Diana Sosoaca 20.2%. The ranking goes with George Simion with 18% and Kelemen Hunor with 8.5% trust capital.   As regards notoriety, the top is led by Diana Sosoaca – 97.2% followed by Marcel Ciolacu – 94.5%, Mircea Geoana – 91.9%, Nicolae Ciuca - 89,2%, George Simion - 86,6%, Nicusor Dan - 85,2%, Kelemen Hunor - 63,3%, Elena Lasconi – 61,1%.   Diana Sosoaca ranks first in the ranking of distrust, being the most unpopular political leader in Romania with 75.4% of Romanians saying they have little, very little or no trust in her. Marcel Ciolacu is in second place in the distrust ranking (67.6% trust quite a little or very little/not at all).   Prime Minister Ciolacu is followed by George Simion (66.5% trust quite a little or very little/not at all), Nicolae Ciuca (63.8% trust quite a little or very little/not at all), Mircea Geoana (57% trust quite a little or very little/not at all), Nicusor Dan (52.7% trust quite a little or very little/not at all). Kelemen Hunor (51.9% trust rather little or very little/not at all) and Elena Lasconi (36.5% trust rather little or very little/not at all). The last two in the distrust ranking are also favored by their lower level of INSCOP Research publishes for the first time both the ranking of trust in the political leaders and that of distrust of total population.   Similarly, for a contextual estimate as  good as possible, the figures could be compared to notoriety. As regards the top of popularity, Mircea Geoana leads (33%) followed by Nicusor Dan (26%) and Marcel Ciolacu (23%) at a distance of 10 percentage points. Measured for the first time in the national survey INSCOP –News, Nicusor Dan and Elena Lasconi get good scores. The new USR chair has a level of trust good enough (a little over 20%) if we compare it to notoriety (only approximately 60% state  know who Elena Lasconi is, significantly under the other party leaders who have notoriety over 80 – 90%).   The top of nonpopularity is led by Diana Sosoaca with three quarters (75%) of the Romanians who do not trust her, followed by Marcel Ciolacu and George Simion, with two thirds of the Romanians. The least hostility is for Elena Lasconi and Kelemen Humor but the figures are influenced by the little notoriety of the last two (approximately 60%), says Remus Stefureac, manager INSCOP Research.   The opinion survey was made by INSCOP Research at the command of the Press Agency News.ro. The data were gathered between 19 and 27 June 2024, through CATI ( phone interviews), the volume of simple sample, stratified   being of 1100 people, representatives for significant socio-demographic categories (sex, age, occupation) for the non- institutionalised population of Romania, age 18 and over. The research method is interview by questionnaire. Maximum error admitted of the data is +/- 2.95% at a trust level of 95%.
