INSCOP poll on vote intention: AUR - 40%, PSD - 17.6%, PNL - 14.8%, USR – 11.5%

The Alliance for Romanians' Union (AUR - opposition) party holds the top position in voter preferences, followed by the Social Democratic Party (PSD – at rule), the National Liberal Party (PNL – în ruling coalition) and the Save Romania Union (USR – în ruling coalition), according to a poll INSCOP Research published on Monday.The survey was conducted between 6-10 October by INSCOP Research, commissioned by the news platform Informat.ro, in partnership with the Strategic Thinking Group think tank.Data was collected using the CATI method (Computer-Assisted Telephone Interviewing). The sample size was 1,100 respondents, stratified and representative of Romania's non-institutionalised adult population (aged 18 and over), across significant socio-demographic categories (gender, age, occupation). The maximum margin of error is ?2.95%, with a 95% confidence level.Voting intentions if parliamentary elections were held next Sunday:AUR: 40.0% (compared to 40.8% in September, 40.5% in June, and 38.1% in May)PSD: 17.6% (vs. 17.9% in September, 13.7% in June, 17.4% in May)PNL: 14.8% (vs. 15.2% in September, 17.3% in June, 16.0% in May)USR: 11.5% (vs. 12.8% in September, 13.1% in June, 12.2% in May)Hungarian Democratic Union of Romania - UDMR: 5.2% (vs. 4.0% in September, 5.2% in June, 4.5% in May)Health, Education, Nature, Sustainability Party - SENS: 3.4% (vs. 2.1% in September, 2.4% in June, 3.3% in May)Young People's Party - POT: 2.6% (vs. 3.3% in September, 4.2% in June, 3.2% in May)S.O.S. Romania: 2.0% (vs. 2.8% in September, 1.9% in June, 2.5% in May)Independents: 1.3% (vs. 0.6% in September, 1.4% in June, 1.5% in May)Other parties: 1.6% (vs. 0.6% in September, 0.5% in June, 1.3% in May)According to the survey, 72.7% of respondents said they would definitely vote if parliamentary elections were held next Sunday, while 13.2% said they would definitely not vote.'Autumn seems to bring a stabilisation of voting intentions. The parties currently in power collectively score around 50%, while the parliamentary opposition reaches around 45%. AUR appears to be consolidating its lead with 40%, while no other party manages to surpass the 20% threshold. PSD ranks second, followed by PNL, USR and UDMR. POT and S.O.S. Romania remain below the 5% threshold, at a level relatively close to that of SENS,' said INSCOP Research Director Remus Stefureac.
