Almost 70% of Romanians would vote for a nationalist candidate for the position of president, who promotes religious values and supports the traditional family, reveals an INSCOP survey presented on Tuesday, the percentage being slightly higher than two years ago. However, only 16% would maintain their choice if such a party/candidate were to propose closer ties with Russia.   According to the survey, 69.1% of Romanians would vote for a nationalist party or candidate for the position of president, who promotes religious values and supports the traditional family (compared to 65.7% in January 2022).   27.3% declare that they would not vote for such a party/candidate (compared to 32.8% in January 2022). 3.6% do not know or do not respond out of the total sample. By comparison, in January 2022, of those willing to vote for a nationalist party (65.7% of the total sample), 26% stated they would maintain their choice (approximately 17% of the total survey participants), while 68.4% supported the opposite.   Hypothetical voting intention for a nationalist party proposing the nationalization of companies exploiting natural resources 37.4% of those willing to vote for a nationalist party or candidate for the position of president (69.1% of the total sample in December 2024) would maintain their choice if such a party/candidate were to propose the nationalization of companies exploiting natural resources (which represents approximately 25.9% of the total survey participants). 52.2% would change their choice. 10.4% do not know or do not respond. The survey was conducted by INSCOP Research on behalf of Funky Citizens. The data was collected between December 16-23, 2024. Research method: sociological survey through a questionnaire.   The data was collected through the CATI method (telephone interviews), with a multistage stratified sample volume of 1000 people, representative of significant socio-demographic categories (gender, age, occupation) for the non-institutionalized population of Romania, aged 18 and over. The maximum permissible data error is +/- 3.1%, with a confidence level of 95%.
