Romania's interim Minister of Foreign Affairs, Oana Toiu, held a telephone conversation on Thursday evening with her Kazakh counterpart, Yermek Kosherbayev, to discuss the latest developments concerning oil shipments through the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC) following the recent drone incidents in the Black Sea."I conveyed our deep appreciation to our Kazakh partners for the resumption of crude oil exports and commercial flows through this strategic infrastructure, which is essential to the stability of global energy and oil markets, as well as supply chains. I reaffirmed Romania's firm commitment to maintaining a secure maritime environment and guaranteeing freedom of navigation in accordance with international law. I also reiterated Romania's readiness to strengthen dialogue and rapid coordination with Kazakhstan in the areas of energy security and the resilience of critical energy infrastructure, given Kazakhstan's important role in Central Asia and beyond," Romania's top diplomat said in a post on her X account.According to Toiu, July next year will mark the 35th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Romania and Kazakhstan, and, in this context, the two ministers expressed their wish to maintain a sustained pace of high-level bilateral contacts."I invited him to pay a working visit to Romania later this year. I also welcomed Kazakhstan's balanced approach to promoting diplomatic solutions aimed at ending the war in Ukraine, as well as the firm position it has adopted on this issue in recent months," interim Foreign Minister Oana Toiu added.
