Iohannis hails Finland's announcement regarding the country's intention to join NATO

President Klaus Iohannis hails Finland's announcement of the state's intention to join NATO and says Romania will support such a move."I welcome the joint statement of the Finnish President Sauli Niinisto and Prime Minister Marin Sanna on Finland's NATO membership. Romania is a strong supporter of NATO's open door policy and is ready to support Finland in the NATO accession process. Together we are stronger!" Iohannis wrote on Twitter on Thursday.Finland must demand NATO membership "without delay," Finnish President Sauli Niinisto and Prime Minister Sanna Marin said on Thursday in a major political change brought about by the Russian invasion of Ukraine."Finland must apply for NATO membership without delay," Niinisto and Marin said in a joint statement."We hope that the steps that are still needed internally to make this decision will be taken in the next few days," the Finnish leaders added.
