Italian, Spanish, Romanian Air Forces' detachments to carry out enhanced Air Police mission

A ceremony dedicated to the certification of the detachments of the Italian Air Force and the Spanish Air Force, deployed in Romania to carry out the mission of the enhanced Air Police, took place on Friday, at the Lieutenant Aviator Gheorghe Mociornita 86th Air Base Borcea, in the presence of the minister of National Defense, Angel Tilvar, and the Chief of the Defense Staff, General Daniel Petrescu, a release from the Ministry of National Defence reads.The National Defense minister emphasized, at the ceremony, that the presence of the Italian and Spanish military in Romania shows the solidarity and unity of action within the Alliance and will strengthen the interoperability between the allied forces.According to the source, the Italian and Spanish detachments deployed in Romania, equipped with Eurofighter aircraft, respectively F-18, will perform, together with the Romanian Air Force, enhanced Air Policing missions and missions within the concept enhanced Vigilance Activity under NATO command, for four months.
