Joint sitting of Romanian, Moldovan parliamentary foreign policy committees on Nov 19

 The Foreign Policy Committee of the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova and the Foreign Policy Committee of the Senate of Romania will meet in a joint sitting in Bucharest on November 19, news agency Moldpres reports on Tuesday.The lawmakers will discuss the advancement of the European integration process as the Republic of Moldova fulfills its commitments, Romania's support for Moldova's European integration agenda, and the European Union's support for the Republic of Moldova. After the discussions, the Foreign Policy Committee of the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova and the Foreign Policy Committee of the Senate of Romania will sign a joint declaration.The delegation of the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova will be led by Parliament Vice-President and Chair of the Foreign Policy Committee Doina Gherman. The delegation also includes Committee members Adrian Balutel, Ion Groza, Mihail Druta, as well as the Chair of the Parliamentary Friendship Group with Romania, Veronica Rosca, who also chairs the Legal Committee on Appointments and Immunities.In Bucharest, the delegation of the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova will meet with the President of the Romanian Senate Mircea Abrudean, Chair of the Senate's Foreign Policy Committee Titus Corlatean, and presidential advisor for European affairs Valentin Naumescu.The deputies will also go to the chapel of the Saint Sophia Church in Bucharest to pay their last respects to former political prisoner and fighter for unity Ilie Ilascu, who passed away at the age of 73.
