JT Grup Oil Nears Constanta Terminal Launch, Expands West

J.T. GRUP OIL S.A. has successfully completed the technological testing of the petroleum products terminal developed by JT Terminal Constanta S.R.L., a wholly owned subsidiary of J.T. GRUP OIL S.A. The milestone marks the final technical stage before the commissioning of the company’s RON 150 million investment—the largest project undertaken by the Group to date. The terminal in the Port of Constanta is the Group’s largest investment and one of the most significant privately developed logistics infrastructure projects for petroleum products built in the port over the past 30 years. The successful completion of technological testing confirms that all installations and equipment are operating within design parameters. Commercial operations are expected to begin in October 2026, following the completion of all legal procedures and the issuance of the required permits. Once operational, the terminal will strengthen Romania’s infrastructure for importing petroleum products, particularly diesel fuel and Jet A-1 aviation fuel, helping meet growing regional demand and supporting the security of fuel supplies. The new facility will significantly expand the Group’s storage and handling capacity while enabling the development of dedicated logistics services for petroleum products. It will reinforce J.T. GRUP OIL’s position as a regional infrastructure operator and support transit and distribution flows across Central and Eastern Europe, primarily serving markets in Romania, Moldova, Ukraine, Serbia, and Bosnia and Herzegovina. The project is also expected to enhance the strategic role of the Port of Constanta as a regional logistics hub. Alongside the completion of the Constanta terminal, the company is continuing to expand its logistics infrastructure with a new strategic investment. J.T. GRUP OIL announced that it has obtained a building permit for the development of a new petroleum products terminal in Port Tisovita–Dubova, near Orsova, in Mehedinti County, on the Danube. The project includes the construction of a terminal equipped with four above-ground storage tanks for liquid fuels, together with the infrastructure and installations required for its operation. The facility will have a 4,000-ton storage capacity and an annual transit capacity of 100,000 tons, complementing the Group’s logistics network along the Danube corridor. By developing terminals in both Constanta and Orsova, J.T. GRUP OIL is building an integrated logistics platform linking the Black Sea and the Danube, providing efficient solutions for the transportation, storage, and distribution of petroleum products to markets in Romania, Hungary, Serbia, Austria, and Ukraine.
