JusMin Marinescu, Austrian Ambassador discuss digitalisation of judicial

  The Minister of Justice, Radu Marinescu, on Tuesday met with Ulla Krauss-Nussbaumer, Ambassador of the Republic of Austria to Romania, on which occasion they discussed, among other things, the digitalisation of the judicial system.According to a press release of the Ministry of Justice sent on Tuesday, during the meeting, a first topic addressed by the two officials aimed at strengthening bilateral judicial cooperation, which is currently functioning excellently, with an emphasis on the exchange of good practices in the field of law enforcement."Also, an important point of the dialogue was the digitalisation of the judicial system, with both officials emphasising the importance of accelerating the process of modernisation of the judicial system, through the use of new technologies, including those that use integrated artificial intelligence systems, in order to facilitate citizens' access to justice, increase the transparency of the act of justice and streamline judicial procedures, an aspect that would lead, among other things, to reducing the resolution time for cases pending before the courts," the press release states.The two high officials also addressed the need to strengthen joint efforts in fighting crime, especially human trafficking and cybercrime, areas in which close cooperation between the Romanian and Austrian authorities contributes to strengthening security and stability at European level, the same source mentions."The Romanian and the Austrian officials also reaffirmed the importance of maintaining excellent collaboration between Romania and Austria as part of their common commitment to defending the rule of law, fundamental rights and promoting democratic values," the Ministry of Justice also points out.
