Korean investors, interested in construction of reactors 3 and 4 at Cernavoda nuclear power plant

The participation of Korean companies in the development of the nuclear sector in Romania was one of the topics analyzed on Thursday by the minister of Energy, Sebastian Burduja, and the ambassador of the Republic of Korea in Bucharest, Rim Kap-Soo, the Ministry of Energy informs in a press release.During the meeting held at the institution's headquarters, the two sides presented the priorities in bilateral relations regarding nuclear energy and the joint cooperation projects in this sector, the discussions also being focused on the interest of investors from the Republic of Korea in the construction of reactors 3 and 4 at Cernavoda, the upgrading of Unit 1, as well as the development of technology based on Small Modular Reactors (SMR)."The participation of Korean companies in the development of the energy sector in Romania underlines the fruitful cooperation between the two countries, both dignitaries expressing their appreciation for the dynamics of bilateral relations in recent years," the Ministry of Energy's press release reads.
