Les Films de Cannes a Bucarest Festival – between October 25 and November 3 with over 50 film presentations

Les Films de Cannes a Bucarest Festival will be at the 15th edition, with 50 presentations, between October 25 and November 3, offering the opportunity to see the latest and appreciated movies in the world, the first time in Romania. “Aurora”, directed by Sean Baker, the winner of Palme d'Or 2024 and a favorite for the Oscars, will be seen as a national premier at Les Films de Cannes a Bucarest Festival, the organizers informed in a press release on Tuesday.   “All We Imagine as Light”, directed by Payal Kapadia, the first Indian movie to ever win the Grand Prix at Cannes, which was awarded for the “thrilling and minute exploration of topics concerning love and the complicated relations involving it,” “Emilia Perez”, directed by Jacques Audiard, prized with the Jury Prize and the Prize for the best female performance for the four actresses in leading roles, “Grand Tour” diected by Miguel Gomes, “The Substance”, directed by Coralie Fargeat, the Prize for best screenplay at Cannes 2024, a national premiere at Les Films de Cannes a Bucarest Festival, are other offers not to be missed at the festival.   Besides over 50 presentations with the most expected films, Les Films de Cannes a Bucarest Festival will organize meetings and debates with film makers and writers, as well as professional events for actors, film makers, screen writers or film producers. In Bucharest, projections will take place at movie theatres Elvire Popesco, Cineplexx Baneasa, Muzeul Taranului Cinema and Auditorium of the National Art Museum of Romania.   In the country, the festival will have local editions in Timisoara, Cluj, Iasi and Arad, bringing film magic closer to the Romanian audience.   A cultural project financed by the National Center of Cinematography, the French Embassy and the French Institute in Romania, Dacin Sara, the Embassy of Spain in Romania, Goethe-Institut, Les Films de Cannes a Bucarest Festival is an event set up in 2010 by Cristian Mungiu with the support of Thierry Fremaux, the director of the Film Festival of Cannes and is organized by Cinemascop Association and Voodoo Films.
