The introduction of local IBANs supported Revolut’s usability and facilitated a wider range of customer services, simultaneously improving security via local regulatory supervision.   In Romania, Revolut operates as a fully digital bank and offers services to over 4.5 million retail clients. The retail customer base grew by 28% last year, achieving a 25% nationwide penetration rate, with higher concentrations in major urban centers and tourist hotspots like Bucharest (44%) and Constanta (30%).
