MF: Consolidated general budget arrears increased by 7.6% in April 2025

The arrears of the consolidated general budget increased by 7.6% in April 2025 compared to the previous month, up to 594.9 million lei, from 552.5 million lei in February, according to data published on the website of the Ministry of Finance (MF). The arrears of over 90 days increased by 4.01%, from 161.9 million lei up to 168.4 million lei and those of over 120 days went up by 16.59% from 239.9 million lei in March 2025 at 279.7 million lei in April. The arrears of over 360 days registered a decline of 2.53% from 150.6 million lei up to 146.8 million lei.According to the cited source, as regards local budgets, arrears increased by 7.7 per cent, from 521.3 million lei (in March 2025) to 561.5 million lei (in April 2025). Arrears over 90 days increased by 2.2 per cent to 154.9 million lei, those over 120 days by 17.33 per cent to 270.8 million lei, and arrears over 360 days decreased by 2.24 per cent to 135.8 million lei.   In the 'State budget and autonomous budget' chapter, arrears increased from RON 31.3 million in March 2025 to RON 33.4 million in April 2025 (+6.7%).   Arrears more than 90 days overdue rose by 29.8 per cent to RON 13.5 million. Those over 120 days decreased by 4.35% to RON 8.8 million, while those over 360 days decreased to RON 11 million (minus 6%).
