The non admission to the Schengen area means losses of 10 billion euros annually for Romania's economy, said economy minister Florin Spataru on Thursday, adding that there are costs which we have been paying for many years, because technically speaking we fulfilled those conditions a long time age. “Such a decision means 10 billion euros which Romania's economy could lose by not being admitted to Schengen and about 1.5 billion euros which any citizen or company pays when crossing borders. We are talking about annual losses,” Spataru said at Digi 24 TV.
