The Ministry of Interior (MAI) draws attention to the existence of a "sustained" campaign of "manipulation" and "foreign information interference," which aims to influence public opinion in our country by inciting hatred or generating negative emotions."Through the systematic and massive dissemination of fake news and disinformation, especially through social networks, the objective is to generate distrust and division in society. A set of tactics, techniques and procedures, associated with campaigns orchestrated by the Kremlin, is also used in parallel with official messages," informs the MAI in a press release sent on Wednesday.According to the MAI, these foreign influence campaigns often promote anti-NATO, anti-EU, anti-Ukraine or anti-Republic of Moldova propaganda."The Romanian authorities are prepared and will continue to systematically combat this fake news and disinformation. However, this is a mission for all of us. Check! Be vigilant! Together we can stop fake news and disinformation," the Ministry of Interior said.
