At the conference “RES market towards maturity”, organized by Energynomics on September 10, Sebastian Enache, Business Development Manager of Monsson, announced a new partnership with Prime Batteries Technology for the development of 1,070 MWh of storage capacity, destined for both Romania and European markets. “I can announce for the first time that we have signed a partnership and contracts for 1,070 MWh with Prime for future projects in Romania and Europe,” said Enache. Monsson is already investing 1,000 MWh in Europe, with the first projects under construction in Sweden and plans for Finland, Germany, Croatia and Italy. In Romania, the company estimates between 600 and 800 MWh installed in the next 2-3 years. But the success of these projects depends on much more than the initial investment. “…The part of operating batteries in an ever-changing market, the part of technical availability, the part of how you use the battery, when you use it and what you need to do to make it available when you need it.” The technology selection process was extensive. “After vetting several suppliers and it was a year-long endeavor where many suppliers came in and sent batteries to us for testing, we eventually came back to Prime Batteries Technology’s solution from a technical results perspective.” In addition, Sebastian Enache talked about how the company is developing in Petrila (Hunedoara County) a factory for the production of metal components and wiring for batteries, as well as equipment for renewable sources, from environmental monitoring to technologies for optimizing production in photovoltaic and wind farms. Monsson wants to integrate the know-how gained both in its own projects and in EPC solutions delivered to the local market. Through these investments and its partnership with Prime Batteries Technology, Monsson aims to reinforce its status as a European reference player in the storage market with solutions that combine flexibility, security and local integration.
