MORE JOB VACANCIES IN THE SECOND QUARTER 2021

  ?In the second quarter 2021, the number of job vacancies was 39.5 thousand, increasing by 1.1 thousand as against the previous quarter. ? The job vacancies rate1 was 0.80%, increasing by 0.01 percentage points as against the previous quarter. ?By comparison with the same quarter 2020, the job vacancies rate increased by 0.09 percentage points and the number of job vacancies increased by 5.3 thousand.     The rate1and the number of job vacancies by economic activities   In the second quarter 2021, the highest job vacancies rates were registered in public administration (2.05%), arts, entertainment and recreation (1.75%), respectively human health and social work activities (1.59%), according to data published on Wednesday by National Institute of Statistics (INS).   In manufacturing was concentrated about one fifth of the total number of job vacancies (8.0 thousand job vacancies), having a rate value of 0.73%. The budgetary sector2 summed up a little bit less than a third of the total number of job vacancies. Thus, 5.8 thousand job vacancies were found in human health and social work activities, 5.7 thousand job vacancies in public administration, respectively 0.8 thousand job vacancies in education.   At the opposite side, the job vacancies rate registered the lowest values in education and other service activities (0.23% each), respectively in mining and quarrying (0.26%). The fewest job vacancies were found in real estate activities, other service activities, respectively mining and quarrying (0.1 thousand job vacancies each).   Quarter II 2021 compared to previous periods   As against the previous quarter, the most relevant increase of the job vacancies rate was found in electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply (+0.36 percentage points), followed by those related to mining and quarrying, respectively transportation and storage (+0.17 percentage points each). The number of job vacancies knew important increases in transportation and storage, respectively wholesale and retail trade (+0.4 thousand job vacancies each), followed by accommodation and food service activities (+0.3 thousand job vacancies).   The most significant decreases of the job vacancies rate were noticed in administrative and support service activities (-0.20 percentage points), respectively water supply; sewerage, waste management and remediation activities (-0.18 percentage points). The number of job vacancies registered a decrease of 0.6 thousand job vacancies in administrative and support service activities and decreases of around 0.2 thousand job vacancies were noticed in manufacturing, water supply; sewerage, waste management and remediation activities and education.   As against the same quarter of the previous year, the most relevant increases of the job vacancies rate were in electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply (+0.57 percentage points), respectively arts, entertainment and recreation (+0.42 percentage points), and as regarding the number of job vacancies in manufacturing (+2.9 thousand job vacancies), respectively in human health and social work activities and accommodation and food service activities (+0.6 thousand job vacancies each). At the opposite side, the most significant decrease for both the rate and the number of job vacancies was noticed in other service activities (-1.74 percentage points, respectively -0.8 thousand job vacancies).   The rate and the number of job vacancies by major groups of occupations     In the second quarter 2021, the job vacancies rate had the highest values for the occupations related to professionals – major group 2 and clerical support workers – major group 4 (1.03% each), respectively technicians and associate professionals - major group 3 (0.85%).   The highest demand for paid labour force expressed by employers through the number of job vacancies was for the occupations related to professionals - major group 2 (11.4 thousand job vacancies), service and sales workers – major group 5 (5.4 thousand job vacancies), respectively for elementary occupations - major group 9 (5.2 thousand job vacancies).   The lowest values for both indicators were registered in occupations related to skilled agricultural, forestry and fishery workers - major group 6 (0.43%, respectively 0.1 thousand job vacancies), respectively managers - major group 1 (0.48%, respectively 1.7 thousand job vacancies).   Quarter II 2021 compared to previous periods   As against the previous quarter, the most relevant increases for both the rate and the number of job vacancies were noticed in the occupations related to service and sales workers – major group 5 (+0.08 percentage points, respectively +0.7 thousand job vacancies) and to professionals - major group 2 (+0.07 percentage points, respectively +0.8 thousand job vacancies).   At the opposite side, the job vacancies rate registered the most important decrease for the occupations related to skilled agricultural, forestry and fishery workers – major group 6 (-0.11 percentage points), and the number of job vacancies for elementary occupations – major group 9 (-0.4 thousand job vacancies).   As against the same quarter of the previous year, the most significant increases for both the rate and the number of job vacancies were found in the occupations related to professionals – major group 2 (+0.25 percentage points, respectively +3.0 thousand job vacancies), followed by those of craft and related trades workers – major group 7 (+0.18 percentage points, respectively +1.2 thousand job vacancies).   At the opposite side, the only decrease for both the rate and the number of job vacancies was noticed for occupations related to service and sales workers – major group 5 (-0.04 percentage points, respectively -0.2 thousand job vacancies).
