Bucharest residents are expected, from Friday to Sunday, at the spring edition of the National Honey Fair, an event organised by the Romanian Beekeepers Association (ACA) at the platform of the Research and Development Institute for Apiculture in Baneasa."The 28th edition of the National Honey Fair, which will take place from March 14 to 16, 2024, at the Baneasa beekeeping platform, has already become a well-known and anticipated event in the Capital, mainly dedicated to consumers of bee products. The more than 100 exhibitors present - beekeepers and dedicated companies - will showcase their products in a highly diversified range: from bee products obtained directly from the hive to packaged bee products or other preparations derived from bee products - dietary supplements, cosmetics, etc. Bucharest residents and others are invited to the National Honey Fair, the perfect place to try the wonderful products of the hive: honey, pollen, propolis, royal jelly, dietary supplements and cocktails - completely natural products that come from the richness of nature, as well as from the hard work of the bees and beekeepers," the organisers say.Additionally, beekeepers will also benefit from this fair, as products dedicated to them will be present - hives and components, machinery and other beekeeping equipment, products for bee health, nutrition products, specialist books, etc.Currently, Romania ranks second in Europe for the number of bee colonies, after Spain, with a total of 2.395 million, and third in honey production.At the national level, there are over 35,000 to 37,000 beekeepers, with about 50% being ACA members, who own more than 60% of the bee colonies in Romania.According to the quoted source, representatives from the Ministry of Agriculture, ANSVSA and APIA are expected at the event.
