NATO ambassadors met on Wednesday to discuss recent airspace violations in Poland and Romania, as well as the latest drone incidents, the Alliance said in a statement, according to Reuters and EFE.Members of the Alliance "expressed their full solidarity and support for the affected allies," the statement noted.They also reiterated that Russia bears full responsibility for the airspace violations, calling them dangerous and unacceptable, and evidence of Russia's growing tolerance for risk.The statement added that "NATO continues to strengthen its integrated air and missile defences across the Alliance, and allies highlighted the actions they have taken to bolster defence on the eastern flank, from the Baltic Sea to the Black Sea. NATO stands ready to deter and defend against any aggression."Allies further reaffirmed their full support for Ukraine in defending its freedom, sovereignty and territorial integrity, stressing that "Russia's irresponsible acts" will not weaken their long-term commitment to Kyiv, which they say also contributes to their own security.At the end of July, a Russian ballistic missile fell about 60 kilometres from Lublin in eastern Poland - an incident Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk described as "serious", prompting Warsaw to send a protest letter to the Russian ambassador.Also in late July, Romania summoned the Russian ambassador in Bucharest and expelled a Russian diplomat after Russian drones violated its airspace, EFE recalls.
