New minimum wage values in construction, agriculture and food industry, approved by gov't

The government established on Tuesday, through an emergency ordinance, the new values of the minimum wage in construction, agriculture and food industry, which will apply as of November, a press release of the government, reads.So, in the construction sector the gross minimum wage will be 4,582 RON, and in the agricultural sector and in the food industry of 3,436 RON."This will protect revenues from these important areas for Romania's economy also after the introduction of the health contribution," the press release explains.These values were established by the government through consultations with trade unions and employers' associations, within the National Tripartite Council and for Social Dialogue, the source said."Currently, the gross minimum wage in construction is 4,000 RON, and in the agricultural sector and food industry reaches 3,000 RON. The increase of the gross minimum wage in the construction sector will benefit 423,110 employees, and in the agricultural sector and food industry 168,000 employees, according to estimates.
