President Nicusor Dan declared on Monday, in Yerevan, that Europe is capable of compensating for a possible reduction in the United States' involvement in the continent's security."Since President Trump's first term, the United States' defense strategy has said that it will focus on the Indo-Pacific more than on Europe and that there will be gradual steps in this direction. This is one of the steps. What is encouraging is that Europe has understood this message, has started to compensate for the security deficit that the United States was providing and we are in a process, which includes SAFE and other instruments, to recover. So, of course we are living through complicated moments. There are tensions, emotions, impulses, but, broadly speaking, I am very optimistic that Europe, as the United States partially disengages from Europe, Europe alone will manage to compensate. In any case, no danger for the immediate future, 1-2-3 years from now," the head of state said during a press conference at the end of the European Political Community summit in Yerevan.
