Nokian Tyres Begins Shipping Tires from New Oradea Factory

The Finnish company Nokian Tyres, which invested 650 million euros in a tire factory in Oradea, announces that it is starting its first deliveries of tires produced in Romania.   Winter and all-season tires are the first products to reach customers and consumers in Central Europe through Nokian Tyres distribution centers. The Oradea production facility is the world’s first CO2-free tire factory, where all energy generated comes from fossil-free sources.   “This week marks the start of the delivery of tires produced at our Oradea factory. The first truck has already left, transporting the tires to our distribution centers and subsequently to customers and consumers in Central and Southern Europe. The factory, the first of its kind in the world with zero CO? emissions, will strengthen our ability to serve consumers and customers in Central and Southern Europe, as well as in other regions, thus supporting our growth strategy. We have reached this goal in less than two years since the start of construction, which is a remarkable achievement for us and I am extremely proud of the Nokian Tyres team, who have worked hard to make this possible. I also want to thank all the Romanian partners and officials who have supported us throughout this process,” says Paolo Pompei, President and CEO of Nokian Tyres.   The recently launched Nokian Tyres Seasonproof 2 is the first passenger car tire range produced in the Romanian factory. The all-season tire range includes sizes for modern passenger cars, SUVs and CUVs available to consumers in Central and Southern Europe by autumn 2025.   It is the company’s first tire in commercial production with such a high percentage of renewable and recycled materials. In the coming months and years, other new products made in Romania will be launched, aimed at drivers in Central and Southern Europe.
