Orange Day: Eight Embassies in Romania join efforts to raise awareness to preventing and ending violence against women and girls

On Sunday, the Austrian Embassy in Bucharest, the Embassy of Denmark in Romania, the  Embassy of Finland in Bucharest, the Embassy of France in Romania, the Embassy of Israel in Romania, the Embassy of Italy in Bucharest,  the Embassy of Mexico in Romania  and the U.S. Embassy in Bucharest have worked together   to raise awareness to prevent and eradicate violence against women and girls. The United Nations General Assembly has designated November 25th as the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women. Initiated and led by the UNiTE campaign Global Youth Network, Orange Day calls upon activists, governments and UN partners to mobilize people and highlight issues relevant to preventing and ending violence against women and girls, not only once a year, but on the 25th of every month.
