Over 21.7 million bank cards active in Romania at end- 2023

 The total number of active bank cards in Romania at the end of December 31, 2023 was standing at 21,751,803, up 665,814 from the end of June 2023, according to data with National Bank of Romania (BNR).Of these, 21,549,687 had a cash function, 587,008 more than at the end of the first half of 2023.As of December 31, 2023, there were 10,229 cash dispensers in Romania, down 15 from June 30, 2023, as well as 456,897 POS devices, up 39,130, and 446,708 EFTPOS (Electronic Funds Transfer at Point of Sale) machines, up 38,881.
