Over 38,000 companies deregistered in the first seven months of 2023

 A total of 38,332 companies were deregistered nationwide in the first seven months of 2023, 6.52% fewer than in the same period last year, according to statistics from the National Trade Register Office (ONRC).The most deregistrations were recorded in Bucharest - 6,195 (minus 5.22% compared to January - July 2022) and in Cluj -1,842 (minus 1.07%), Constanta - 1,731 (minus 5.15%) and Timis - 1,715 (minus 7.85%) counties.Conversely, the fewest deregistrations were recorded in the counties of Ialomita - 231 (down 31.45% compared to the first seven months of 2022), Covasna - 277 (minus 18.77%) and Giurgiu - 300 (minus 27.36%).The most significant increases in the number of deregistrations were recorded in the counties of Dambovita (plus 20.45%), Botosani (plus 16.90%) and Bacau (plus 16.88%).During the period under review, the largest decreases in the number of deregistrations were recorded in the counties of Ialomita (minus 31.45%), Giurgiu (minus 27.36%) and Ilfov (minus 22.43%).By sector of activity, the highest number of deregistrations was recorded in wholesale and retail trade, repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles - 9,750 (minus 12%, compared to January - July 2022), professional, scientific and technical activities - 3,345 (minus 2.22%) and transport and storage - 3,226 (plus 1.38%).In July 2023, 4,437 companies were deregistered, most of them in Bucharest (830) and in the counties of Constanta (208), Timis (181) and Cluj (176).
