Over 6,000 companies suspend their activity in Q1 2024

The number of companies that suspended their activity in the first three months of 2024 was 6,014, an increase of over 33% compared to the same period of last year, according to data published by the National Trade Registry Office (ONRC).The most companies that suspended their activity were from Bucharest, respectively 772 (a number increasing by 26.44% compared to January-March 2023).By field of activity, the largest number of suspensions was recorded in wholesale and retail trade, repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles, respectively 1,405 (plus 20.09%), in professional, scientific and technical activities - 625 suspensions (plus 36, 17%) and construction - 566 suspensions (plus 62.64%).
