Parliament convened in joint session for reading four motions of no confidence filed by Opposition

  The Senate and Chamber of Deputies convened in a joint session on Thursday to read the four motions of no confidence submitted by the parliamentary groups of the Alliance for Romanians' Union (AUR), SOS Romania and the Young People's Party (POT), following the Government's decision to assume responsibility before Parliament for four draft laws.The session was chaired by Sorin Grindeanu, President of the Chamber of Deputies, who announced that 172 MPs had registered their presence, out of a total of 464.The four motions are titled:* "Resign, Bolojan Government - the best treatment for the healthcare system, and for Romania too!"* "Stop the politicisation of public companies. Stop the mockery of state property!"* "The Government is faking reform - ASF, ANRE and ANCOM remain corrupt, incompetent and malevolent institutions, captured by political clientele and lacking professional governance"* "Stop impoverishing the Romanian people! Cut from yourselves, not from them!"The debate and vote on the four motions of no confidence will take place on Sunday at 13:00, in a joint session of Parliament.According to parliamentary regulations, voting will be secret.The motions were submitted by the Opposition on Wednesday night, targeting draft laws concerning healthcare measures, corporate governance, the efficiency of certain autonomous administrative authorities, and optimising public resources, for which the Government had assumed responsibility before Parliament.On Monday, the Government assumed responsibility for five draft laws from the second reform package. However, AUR only submitted motions of no confidence for four of these, excluding the bill on magistrates' pensions.If the motions are rejected, the measures in the five laws are considered adopted.If the motions are passed, the Government will be dismissed.
