Romania supported the peace formula of president Volodimir Zelensky from the very beginning and the ‘so-called peace formula’ presented by Russia is unbelievable, stated on Sunday the minister of foreign affairs, Luminita Odobescu after participating in the Global Summit for Peace dedicated to Ukraine, taking place in Switzerland. The head of Romanian diplomacy showed that the summit hosted by Switzerland was a success by the huge number of participants as well as by the agreement of the states that peace in Ukraine must rely on the UN Charter and the international law."Yesterday and today I attended the Global Summit on Peace in Ukraine, hosted by Switzerland in Buergenstock. The event was organised at the request of President Zelenski, and there was a broad international participation in the work of the summit - over 100 states and international organisations from all continents. It is an important event, considered successful by the broad participation and the agreement of the participating states that this process, which is in its infancy, must be based on the UN Charter and international law. Three priority issues on Ukraine's agenda were discussed within the peace formula presented by President Zelenski, namely nuclear security, food security and humanitarian issues. Basically, the principles underlying a future peace were discussed in detail. Obviously, this is a long process, but the fact that there were so many participants from all continents shows the interest of countries to find solutions and that the rules-based international order remains an important foundation of international relations," said Lumini?a Odobescu. The Romanian minister presented during the Summit in Switzerland the effots and investments made by our country for the transit of grain from Ukraine."I participated in the panel on food security, which is very important from the perspective of Romania's efforts to support Ukraine, including grain transit. We presented Romania's very important role, the investments that the national authorities have made to facilitate Ukrainian grain exports and also the efforts we are making together with Bulgaria and Turkey to ensure movement in the Black Sea, through the demining agreement signed by the three countries," said the Romanian official. Luminita Odobescu has also mentioned the fact that Romania supports the peace formula of the Ukrainian president, Volodimir Zelenski, the position of our country being always that peace in Ukraine must rely on the UN Charter and the principles of international law. At the same time, Romania considers that ‘the so-called peace formula” presented by Russia is unbelievable. The international conference for peace in Ukraine, organized at the request of Ukraine started on Saturday in Buergenstock, in Switzerland to discuss the first steps to pave the way for peace negotiations in the Russia’s war in Ukraine, dpa reported.
