July 11, 2024

The minister of Energy, Sebastian Burduja, signed 14 financing contracts for photovoltaic panels for municipalities and public institutions, the total value being almost 7 million euros, the ministry announced on Friday. The representatives of the ministry specify that the total value of the financed projects is 34.57 million RON (6.95 million euros), the total value granted from the Fund for Modernization being worth 29.014 million RON (5.83 million euros). The total installed power is 4.6 MW, which means an estimated electricity production of over 5.5 million kWh per year. Three towns and 10 small towns are part of this project, to which is added a financing contract with the Timisoara Polytechnic University."We support town halls and public institutions to ensure their energy independence, at the same time having green energy and a cleaner environment. Through the investments we have signed today, the municipal and urban town halls can create jobs in the community, and the money savings from electricity bills can be redirected to other needs of the residents. These contracts join nine others that we signed last week," said Sebastian Burduja.
